At the CIA’s annual conference in Calgary, Ad Res will be presenting the results of the CPM Update Project. Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of key findings and the choices made by the Research Team and the Project Oversight Group.
The new Canadian Pensioner Mortality Tables, CPM2024, which were published in March 2026, were developed using state-of-the-art mortality modelling techniques on a large pool of pensioner data. The new tables incorporate several innovations in comparison to predecessor tables, including allowance for differences in mortality between retirees and surviving spouses and separate tables for pensioner portfolios with especially heavy or light mortality.
For our presentation at the CIA annual conference, we will be joined by Étienne Bazin, Principal – Consulting at TELUS Health, as representative of the CIA’s Project Oversight Group who will provide context and commentary on practical considerations for using the CPM2024 tables. The Ad Res research team will give an overview of the CPM data pool collected from 33 pension plans, outline the mortality modelling method we used, and present key results from the CPM Update Project within an international context.
